| Prague Food Festival |
|
From 25 to 27 May 2012, the sixth PRAGUE FOOD FESTIVAL took place in the Royal Gardens of Prague Castle. The area covering more than six hectares hosted 34 best and most interesting restaurants, renowned sommeliers, bartenders and food and beverage producers. Within three days, this significant culinary event attracted 18 358 visitors, which again is more than last year. Attendance corresponds to the maximum capacity of the premises.
Friday’s opening ceremony was attended by the founder of Prague Food Festival Mr. Pavel Maurer and the PFF producer Ms. Monika Maurerova. Mrs. Livia Klausova, the wife of Czech President, under whose auspices the festival was held, opened the festival by the first bite – a cracker especially made by the Organic Bakery Zemanka. The festival was launched by the dance performed by the reigning queen of Easter Island Rapa Nui – Lili Pate and the performance of the Children’s Choir of the Czech Radio.
This year’s motto of the festival was “Think globally, eat locally”. Lovers of first-class gastronomy had the possibility to taste rabbit pate with cherry sauce, stewed lamb leg, carrot purée with herbs, or froth of farmer’s goat cheese with marinated green asparagus and spicy honey sauce and many other delicacies.
